In 2004, Nestor Carbonell co-starred in the short-lived CBS drama, Century City as attorney Tom Montero. Originally picked up for 9 episodes, the series was canceled after 4 – however, the final 5 were aired later. In 2007 while guest appearing on Lost, Nestor Carbonell was asked to screen test for a new show for the CBS network called Cane. He tested for the role of Frank, the playboy middle son of the famous rum-making Duque family. The series which was likened to a Latino version of The Godfather unfortunately only lasted one season due to the writers’ strike of 2007. In 2004 Nestor Carbonell joined the Lifetime hit show, Strong Medicine with the recurring role of a wealthy businessman – Jonas Rey. He tells a family member who is a patient at the hospital he will marry Dr. Lu Delgado (Rosa Blasi) who he sees around the hospital helping patients. After pursuing her they finally begin dating and by the end of the season, he proposes to her.
