His other roles include his Emmy winning guest appearance in Shogun as Vasco Rodrigues, the Dark Knight Trilogy, as well as numerous voice acting credits. As 2022 draws to a close we are taking a look back at what the year has brought for Néstor Carbonell & his fandom! 2022 has been a busy year full of public appearances, directing, and more!

We kicked things off in January with the first announcement that The Morning Show would be returning for a third season which Nestor is currently in the process of filming reprising his role as lovable weatherman, Yanko Flores! Hot on the heels of this was another — The Morning Show cast was nominated for ensemble and individual SAG Awards! In February it was revealed through a set video that Nestor was back to directing for another episode of the hit show New Amsterdam. While the end of the month saw Nestor (his beard) & Shannon attend the 28th Annual SAG Awards with the rest of The Morning Show. In April, Nestor’s latest episode of New Amsterdam aired where he gave numerous interviews discussing his time directing the episode. We also saw him attend two events that month starting with the Pace Gallery opening and the 20th Annual Inclusion Matters Gala at the end of the month.

On June 11th, the cast of The Morning Show promoted the series at a special screening & panel where they walked the red carpet before answering audience questions. In August it was revealed through social media that Nestor was directing a 3rd episode of New Amsterdam this time during the 5th and final season of the series. While August 15 gave us the trailer and release date for the awaited crime drama, Bandit starring Nestor, Josh Duhamel, Mel Gibson & Elisha Cuthbert. We roll into fall with the September 21st world premiere of Bandit in Los Angeles which Nestor and the cast attended. The film was released digitally and in select theaters that Friday September 23 to rave reviews and eventually hit number one on various platforms. October began with Nestor’s addition to the cast of the thriller Clawfoot which is currently in post-production while he also announced he will direct an episode of Law & Order after he wraps filming The Morning Show during A Mick, A Mook, and a Mic podcast. Finally we come to December where we celebrated Nestor’s birthday and the next day he attended Galaxy Con Columbus which lasted 3 days. It certainly has been an interesting and busy year as we head into 2023 notably fans are awaiting for Nestor’s latest project: the Hulu adaption of James Clavell’s novel, Shōgun So lets all stay tuned!
