That’s a wrap on Season 2 of The Morning Show! The gallery has been updated with more Behind the Scenes photos of Nestor Carbonell shared by cast mates: Reese Witherspoon & Jennifer Aniston.
Tonight was the season finale of The Morning Show and what a way to bring Yanko’s storyline full circle! In the end due to his suspension Yanko stood alone at UBA to deliver the news since he was the only one not exposed to COVID.
Thank You to Nestor Carbonell & the rest of the cast & crew of The Morning Show – onward and upward to another season!
Tonight’s episode which was released early saw the return of Yanko on our screens due to his suspension & being absent the past 2 episodes. It also saw Yanko & Claire reunited since we last saw them together in the Season 1 finale. What started out to be a sweet reunion with them making plans to get together again before she left goes south. She becomes upset at the realization that Yanko is going to attend Mitch’s memorial service. He begs her to understand why he is going which spurs her to reveal that she is financing the lawsuit against UBA for Hannah. Yanko wants Claire to understand she can’t blame herself for Hannah’s death which only angers Claire more causing her to storm off. It was great to see Nestor Carbonell & Bel Powley back together on screen although it seems that all hope may be lost for a possible reconciliation of their relationship. In the Inside the Episode, Nestor discusses Yanko’s motivation for attending Mitch’s memorial and can be found below in the video vault.
The gallery has been updated with screencaptures from the Director’s Cut of Killer Movie which was released on August 27, 2021. Originally released in 2008, Nestor Carbonell portrays Seaton Brookstone who tasks a client to direct a documentary in a small town. During the course of the film the crew & more are killed off one by one in a spoof of slasher flicks. A nod at this even further is the fact that the director’s cut is shorter with scenes placed in different points of the movie or scenes in the movie (such as Nestor’s interviews) being added as popups on the screen.
For Halloween this year, I’ve added Behind the Scenes photos, episode stills and screen captures of Nestor’s role as healer, Kai Lucero in the NBC supernatural drama: Midnight, Texas! In addition 3 on set interviews of Nestor have also been added to the Video Vault, below.
Tonight we saw the consequences of Yanko’s fight from last week after he comes to the studio to meet with Stella. They discussed his black eye which led to a “they already say I wear eye makeup” quip which is a reference to Nestor Carbonell always being asked if he wears eyeliner. After having a sort of bonding moment over their struggles of being weird as children, Stella tells Yanko she has to suspend him. Yanko who thought he was in the right for sticking up for her was taken back by this announcement after their talk just a minute ago. This scene didn’t really come as a surprise but you have to feel for Yanko since he’s been put through the ringer this season so far.
This weeks episode was released by Apple TV a few hours early, and wow was it worth it! While it was more of a Yanko-lite episode his two scenes in the episode were a definite highlight! When Mia asks him to go to Florida and learn about the Seminole tribe while being filmed he goes off. He refused to appease Stella feeling that she wanted to humiliate him because she was viewing him as prejudiced. This scene was topped when despite his feelings about her Yanko defends Stella against a man yelling racial slurs at her about COVID-19 by getting into a public fight with him.
The gallery has been updated with HQ digital copies of various magazine/newspaper interview articles that have came out on Nestor over the past years.
In the fourth episode of season 2, Yanko (Nestor Carbonell) had to apologize for an offensive comment, and may have only made it worse. At least according to his bosses Mia Jordan (Karen Pittman) and Stella Bak (Greta Lee).
[Spoiler alert: This article contains spoilers for the fourth episode of The Morning Show Season 2.]
Lee, Pittman and Carbonell spoke with Showbiz Cheat Sheet on Sept. 10 by Webex about the new season of The Morning Show. Their opinions on the apology situation varied as drastically as their characters’. New episodes of The Morning Show premiere Fridays on Apple TV+.
Nestor Carbonell wishes Yanko stood up to ‘The Morning Show’ producers
Even behind the scenes, Carbonell thought his character was in the right. Carbonell said he wished Yanko had pushed back harder, but agreed his apology was lackluster.
“I was all about Yanko being resolute, holding his ground,” Carbonell said. “If anything, I was like, ‘Dude, why are you even doing this apology? Don’t go there’ but Yanko didn’t listen to me. So off he went and did his lame apology. He did what he could because he had to answer to his conscience on some level. His conscience told him that this is just absurd on his face, that the head of the news division has completely misrepresented who he is and has not backed him in this thing. So he feels deeply underappreciated, deeply misunderstood. So no, I was hoping he would stand his ground and he did in the end, but it took him a while.”
